In the article term "migration" definition is given. On the example of the border regions of Russia and Kazakhstan features and possible consequences of migratory processes in the border regions are described. The statistical data reflecting dynamics of movement of the population are provided. The expected tangential coefficient characterizing development of migratory processes in the Omsk region is defined.
