Sketch of the history of mathematical methods in economics

The author has provided a detailed overview about the history of the development of mathematical methods in economy, the emergence and development of probability theory and statistics, actuarial and financial mathematics. This article shows how the economy took place against the background of the struggle between the supporters of mathematical methods and their opponents, including the vulgar mathematical theories in economics commentators.
