In modern conditions the first priority is given to the working out and adoption of a wide range of technological and product innovations in economic development. The key role has the initiative influence of the market demand, which at the innovations market is completely different from the one described in classical theory by its non-functional character, dynamism and structural heterogeneity. In this study the demand for basic product innovations which are required by different consumers segments with the transition from one phase of life cycle to another is analyzed.
