The solution to the problem of providing the population with domestic food stuff in the first place depends on the stable operation of grain, meat and dairy subcomplexes of the agroindustrial sector. The article undertakes an economic and statistical assessment of the problem of food security enforcement of the Central Federal district regions, singles out the main causes of the deterioration of the situation.
