Features of the expanded reproduction with revealing a role and the importance of a financial component, and also concepts of social and economic development are studied. The grouping of regions of the Russian Federation on a total regional product is carried out. On the basis of an author's technique the estimation of economic potential of regions, with studying laws of its use is carried out.
