The impact of large corporations on the socio-economic development of the region

Subject The article examines the socio-economic relations arising in the process of corporate activities within the territory of subjects of the Russian Federation.
Objectives The paper aims to determine the forms and tendencies of impact of large corporations on the socio-economic development of the Russian regions.
Methods For the study, we used a systems approach and the applied methods of synthesis, classification, generalization and grouping, comparative analysis, and structural analysis.
Results The article analyzes the determinants of large innovative industrial companies in the regions, the interaction between corporations and territorial Governments, and the impact of corporations on the socio-economic development of the regions.
Conclusions and Relevance We conclude about the ambiguity of the impact of large corporations on the socio-economic development of the region found, e.g. in the divergence of interests of large corporations and the population, and that the adverse effects can be optimized through State regulation. The results of the research may be useful for the State executive bodies, large enterprises and organizations in various industries, that implement the investment and innovation development strategy in specific regions of the country, as well as to researchers and students.
