Article is devoted to an assessment of foreign economic activity in regions of North Caucasus federal district. The analysis of separate criteria of openness of regional economy of North Caucasus federal district is carried out, the main problems constraining expansion and increase of efficiency of foreign economic relations are revealed. The conclusion is drawn on need of development of regional programs of foreign economic activity taking into account production and resource specialization for realization of competitive external economic capacity of the territory.
