In the article the author presents research of essence and models of formation of educational institutions of innovative-enterprise type. It is revealed that the modern university of innovative-enterprise type is the most competitive form of the organization of educational, scientific and enterprise activity in the information society and economy of knowledge. Results of the analysis can be used administration of educational institutions by working out of an educational, administrative, scientific and entrepreneurial policy.
