Role of Russian ruble in international monetary system

After the crisis of 2008 accelerated the weakening of the competitiveness was accelerated. The Russian politicians and economists predict increase of the status of Russian ruble in world currency system. In the article attempt to measure the potential available for this currency is given. The analysis is carried out on the basis of three groups of the indicators reflecting an economic situation and development of financial sector of the country issuer of currency, and also competitiveness of the currency at the international level.
