In the article it is examined by one of the basic economic categories - investment potential. Is shown the need for the package treatment of the essence of concept “investment capital” from the position of economic subject, who achieves investment activity. Determination of the investment potential of the region and economy as a whole is given and its connection with the investment climate is formulated
