Subject. The article deals with evaluation of the elements of students' budget on the basis of differentiated approach.
Objectives. The study aims to compile profiles of students in the context of certain types of expenses and sources of their financing, identify factors that affect certain types of expenses, analyze the distribution of expenses by certain types.
Methods. The study employs methods of statistical observation, summary and grouping of data, construction of distribution series, as well as methods of comparative analysis, generalization of official statistical information and primary data obtained in the course of statistical observation.
Results. I compiled structural profiles of students in terms of tuition fee, place of residence, sources of expense financing; revealed factors influencing separate types of expenses; constructed series of distribution of expenses for food, the amount of material assistance from parents and relatives, and students' wages. The paper sets limits of variability of expenses for additional education, transport, communications and the Internet, sports and culture.
Conclusions. The amount of expenses and their financing depends on a combination of factors. State employees and employer-sponsored students do not pay tuition fee, however, it is the main part of expenses of students studying on a commercial basis. Living with parents nullifies housing costs and significantly reduces food costs. Among the sources of funding, the main role belongs to material assistance of parents and relatives. One third of students work.
