Subject. Restructuring logistics networks, adapting the national economy to new geopolitical challenges. Objectives. Assessing the potential for economic growth in Russia's border regions. Identifying risks that need to be considered in policies aimed at ensuring social stability. Methods. Comparative and statistical analyses. Results. It has been established that the border regions of Russia are highly polarized across several important parameters. 'Growth points' are areas where major infrastructure projects are being implemented with strong support from the government (Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Jewish Autonomous Region, Leningrad Oblast, Kamchatka Krai). 'Risk zones' are mostly concentrated in the North Caucasian Federal District, as well as in certain western border regions (Pskov, Kursk) that are characterized by high unemployment, low income, budget dependence, and a decline in investment due to geopolitical factors. Conclusions. The socioeconomic landscape of border geostrategic areas is extremely uneven, which calls for a differentiated approach to regional policy. Support is needed for successful investment projects in 'growth points' and the development of targeted measures to ease tension and diversify the economy in 'risk zones'.
