Feed production efficiency: Theoretical and practical aspects

Subject. Development of animal husbandry, formation of the feed base.
Objectives. Development of a methodology for evaluating the efficiency of feed production, taking into account various indicators. Assessment of the development dynamics of the agricultural sector in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Methods. Statistical analysis tools have been applied.
Results. An original methodology for assessing the efficiency of feed production has been proposed, which involves taking into account the nutritional value of feeds, the productivity of feed crops, and the cost of a unit of output. In the Republic of Tatarstan, during the period 2015–2024, there was an increase in the efficiency of corn and other silage crop production, accompanied by a decrease in the efficiency of annual and perennial grass production.
Conclusions. Final results in agriculture largely depend on the technologies used, compliance with certain requirements, the state of the material and technical base, and the organization of labor.
