Subject. The ability of regional economic systems to withstand new challenges. Objectives. Identifying the relationship between developed local measures to ensure economic security and the degree of interregional interaction of the regions of the Siberian Federal District. Methods. Comparative analysis, content analysis, scaling. Results. In the socioeconomic development strategies of the regions of the Siberian Federal District, the greatest attention is paid to social and public security. The key role of historical-structural factors in shaping regional approaches to ensuring security is confirmed. The strategic planning system is characterized by insufficient consideration of the digital environment and long-term demographic trends. Conclusions. The dominance of local solutions and the fragmented nature of interregional interaction contribute to the spread of cascading and cross-border threats.
