Subject. Food security of Russia, development of new forms of management, international experience in promoting wine products.
Objectives. Assessment of the production potential of the viticulture and winemaking industry as an important component of the agro-industrial complex.
Methods. Systems and structural-functional analyses methods were used.
Results. The formation of clusters within the viticulture and winemaking industry contributes to the creation of sales channels for products, the development of a unified marketing strategy, while tourism and by-product industries become sources of additional income. The cluster form of business organization is beneficial for the viticulture and winemaking industry due to the common natural and geographical characteristics of the area, which affect the specifics of the products.
Conclusions. The research results can be taken into account when developing the basics of state policy for the development of the viticulture and winemaking industry in the Russian Federation.
