The article aims to identify key factors determining the formation and development of high-productivity jobs, and analyze regional disparities and their consequences for the socioeconomic development of areas. Methods. For the study, we used a fixed-effects panel regression model and a cluster analysis. Results. The article finds that the level of digitalization has the greatest impact on the growth of high-productivity jobs, while investments in fixed capital have a moderate impact. Various crisis phenomena had a negative effect on the formation of high-productivity jobs, in underdeveloped regions especially. Conclusions. High-productivity job growth requires a differentiated approach to employment.
