Subject. This article discusses the contribution of small enterprises to achieving key macroeconomic indicators of the Novosibirsk Oblast.
Objectives. The article aims to analyze the development prospects of small enterprises of the service sector and their opportunities for increasing the regional economic potential.
Methods. For the study, we used a statistical analysis.
Results. The article finds that small service-sector enterprises have a significant impact on job creation, provide tax revenues to the regional budget, and foster healthy competition. However, a decline in the physical volume index of the gross regional product is observed in the Novosibirsk Oblast, which requires developing measures to restore and stimulate the economic activity of small business.
Conclusions. The application of the proposed methodological approach to assessing the resource potential of small enterprises of the service sector will help increase the Oblast's overall economic potential.
