Subject. This article discusses the issues of protection of the sovereignty of states in the context of globalization of economic relations.
Objectives. The article aims to conduct a critical analysis of the main approaches to ensuring international economic security.
Methods. For the study, I used the general scientific research methods.
Results. The article formulates the basic principles of sustainable economic security emphasizing that in the 21st century, economic sovereignty cannot mean autarky and should be understood as the ability of a state to independently determine its development model.
Conclusions. In today's context, it is necessary to find a balance between national priorities and international commitments.
