Subject. This article discusses the issues of improving the efficiency of production processes.
Objectives. The article aims to analyze the impact of digital technologies on the business model development and economic activity participants’ interaction.
Methods. For the study, we used a systems analysis.
Results. Based on the results of comparison of regional production complexes and clusters as economic entities, the article finds that the introduction of digital technologies improves labor productivity significantly, however, digitalization requires substantial financial investments at the initial stages.
Conclusions. Government support for the development of digital infrastructure and the implementation of modern technologies will contribute to the creation of competitive clusters that ensure sustainable growth and development of the Russian economy in the long term.
