Subject. This article discusses the issues of sectoral entropy in the socioeconomic macrosystem.
Objectives. The article aims to substantiate the method of estimating sectoral entropy, test the hypothesis about the regularity of its exponential growth, and assess the regularity of the gross domestic product sectoral structure indicators influence on it and the sectoral development of the socioeconomic macrosystem.
Methods. For the study, we used a systems approach and statistical analysis.
Results. The article argues that the quality of sectoral development of the socioeconomic macrosystem can be assessed by sectoral entropy using the Gibbs formula. It reveals a natural trend towards its exponential growth along with the growth of the average per capita gross domestic product.
Conclusions. Further research is related to the establishment of rational proportions in the sectoral structure of the gross domestic product.
