Subject. This article examines the concept, characterization, and the history of development of the knowledge economy and discusses the improvement of human resource (HR) processes in the quality management system of organizations.
Objectives. The article aims to study the world knowledge economy practices and find the best ways to apply them in the Russian practice, taking into account national contexts.
Methods. For the study, I used the methods of comparative analysis, synthesis, and modeling.
Results. Analyzing the Russian knowledge management system, the article reveals its strengths and weaknesses and outlines ways to develop the knowledge economy in Russia.
Conclusions. The Russian knowledge economy practice shows good results relative to the average world values and takes into account the peculiarities of domestic management, which help Russian organizations increase intellectual capital and improve the quality management system.
