Modern Russian city in tendencies of urbanistic world

In the article on the basis of the analysis of settlement structure of Russia and other countries, a contribution of various categories of settlements to gross domestic product similarities and distinctions of some demographic and economical and urbanistic characteristics of development of Russia in comparison to other countries are considered. The question and proposals an explanation of interrelation of economic problems of the country with its urbanistic characteristics. In work offers for change of the political agenda, aimed at improvement of a state of affairs in economy and positions of the Russian cities are formulated.
