In the article the review of the approaches to an assessment of level of region economic safety is presented, their merits and demerits are revealed. The author's technique of an assessment of region economic safety on the basis of the system of indicators including four components (stability of functioning and development of the region, the regional market of the capital and insurance, level of economic safety and stability of set of the enterprises functioning in the territory of the region, set of the individuals living in this territory) is offered, also are presented results of its approbation on an example of the Chelyabinsk region.
