Some issues of regional structures of the Russian Federation

In the article the methodological approaches to an assessment of level of economic development of territorial educations are considered. It is shown that adequate characterization of the level of economic development of a territorial unit gives index of gross product per unit area. The carried-out analysis allows to reveal both separate typological groups of the countries, and the relevant groups of regions of the Russian Federation.
