In the article it is noted the many foreign and domestic researchers, consider the territory as the goods, allowing to satisfy the needs of separate categories of consumers: population, businessmen, tourists etc. The author considers the main characteristics of the territory defining its consumer value. Studying of commodity characteristics of the territory is necessary with a view of strengthening of competitive positions of the territory in the global market.
