Demographic factor of social-economic development of North-East in Russia

Features of formation and development of the population of the Northeast region of Russia are considered. The dynamics and components of change in population size and structure for the period from 1989 to 2010 are analyzed. The changes of age structure of the population of the region are presented. It is revealed that demographic aging, growth of mortality of the population together with low birth rate and negative balance of migration became the reason of depopulation of the population of the region. Measures for strengthening of demographic factor of the region are offered.
