Prospects for expansion of mineral resources of diamonds in the North-East of Russia

Depletion of rough diamonds for open pit and a large-scale transition to underground mining has led to increase in the cost of mining and the possible decline in diamond production. In this article the comparative analysis of the world's major diamond mining companies and enterprises of the second echelon is made. It is shown that is necessary to constantly expand the mineral resource base of diamonds, and the second-tier companies can effectively develop the field with limited volumes.
