In the article on an example of the Republic Kareliya developing in basic after the raw model, degree of its resource dependence in comparison with other subjects of Northwest federal district is defined. Concept of factor of a resource orientation of the economy, allowing other regions to use the given indicator at management of territory, applying strategy of an economic diversification is presented.
