Problems of development of rural territories have a special urgency and act as a priority direction of a state policy. Thereupon research of features, the reasons and laws of development of rural territories is necessary.
     In work the analysis of the basic indicators of development of rural territories on an example of Kursk area is made, the conclusion is drawn on necessity of increase in level of the state support of rural territories.
