The article studies methodological approaches for perfecting the methods of living wage estimation for socially and demographically different population groups of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). It explains the local features of the region necessary to take into account at defining the natural contents of the consumer basket. It offers more precise data on territorial division of the Russian Federation, changes in the set of goods and services.
