The author analyses the industrial and economic activity of the timber complex of the Komi Republic, shows the dynamics of the production release in 2005-2007. The development of the timber processing complex is clogged by common problems. The article deals with such issues as certification of woods in the Komi Republic, development of transport accessibility, government support of capital-intensive infrastructure projects, investment activity of the republic, particularly related to making roads through the woods and using logging, raw lumber and woodwork waste.
