Subject. This article focuses on the international hydropower organizations and their interaction with industry actors, including economic operators.
Objectives. The study aims to identify key international organizations and their roles in the world hydropower industry development, as well as the formation of modern institutional, technological, and managerial approaches to the development projects implementation.
Methods. For the study, I used the systems approach to data analysis and synthesis, methods of induction and deduction, comparison and expert assessment.
Results. The article identifies key international and regional organizations that influence the modern hydropower development. It also determines that the participation of economic operators in the activities of these organizations contributes to improving the efficiency of the hydropower projects implementation.
Conclusions. International industry organizations play an important role in shaping modern approaches to the hydropower development. The activities of key organizations contribute to improving the efficiency of managing hydropower projects. Specialized higher education institutions can apply the results of the study.
