Subject. This article focuses on the achieving sustainable development goals in the context of conflict between the ''Collective West'' and the ''Global South''.
Objectives. The study aims to examine the problems of achieving sustainable development goals and the relevance of their transformation.
Methods. For the study, I used the methods of analysis and synthesis, a review of scientific sources, analysis of statistical data and forecasts.
Results. The article considers a theoretical discussion regarding the significance of sustainable development goals and the problems in their achievement.
Conclusions. The contradictions of sustainable development goals, their insufficient harmony and research, as well as the intensification of geopolitical confrontation, have led, at best, to moderate progress in achieving a number of sustainable development goals, and, at worst, to a significant regression in their achievement.

Keywords: sustainable development, geopolitical confrontation, economic development
