Subject. This article focuses on the state of resource markets for the semiconductor chip production ecosystem at present and their dynamics over the past decade.
Objectives. The article aims to analyze the resource markets distribution among countries worldwide and the impact of the geopolitical situation on them.
Methods. For the study, we used general scientific methods of analysis based on data from publicly available reports of international organizations, analytical agencies, and leading companies.
Results. The article examines international resource markets. It shows that they are currently globalized and unevenly distributed across regions.
Conclusions. The semiconductor chip production ecosystem depends on the stability of supply for materials, software, equipment, the availability of skilled personnel, and consumer orders. Economic and political risks of supply chain disruptions force all market players to look for opportunities to build a closed chip manufacturing infrastructure within their own country or friendly countries.
