Subject. This article focuses on problems of dairy production and national security of food supply for the population of Russia. Objectives. The article aims to analyze the production of dairy products in Russian regions and its development, and determine the prospects for providing the population with food. Methods. For the study, I used the methods of general scientific research and comparative analysis. Results. The article reveals key trends of the dairy industry development of the leading Russian regions and identifies the most effective indicators in the production of dairy products. Conclusions. Dairy production is distributed across Russian regions unevenly. Territorial clusters of dairy production have a significant impact on the development of the regions. High concentration of capacities and automation of business processes creates trends for high product productivity in Russia. State support provides positive trends for the implementation of investment projects and growth of production volumes.
