Approaches and algorithm for digitalization of business processes in healthcare institutions: Effective management in the context of healthcare digital transformation
Subject. This article explores the digitalization of business processes in healthcare institutions, focusing on optimization of clinical, administrative, and financial operations. Objectives. The purpose is to develop an algorithm and practical recommendations for digitizing business processes in healthcare institutions to improve their operational efficiency, quality and accessibility of services. Methods. The study rests on comprehensive approach, incorporating analytical, systems, and project-based methods. I examined the existing business processes, classified and prioritized them. The effectiveness was evaluated using statistical methods, analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs), and surveys of staff and patients. Results. The implementation of the digitization algorithm enabled a reduction in treatment duration by optimizing the scheduling of specialists. The average monthly number of patients increased and the number of complaints decreased. Electronic medical records and the doctor schedule management system were introduced and tested on the case of healthcare organization OOO Reatsentr Samarskii. The results demonstrated increased profitability and optimized costs that helped maintain the cost of treatment at the level of December 2023. Conclusions. The findings confirm the practical applicability and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, as demonstrated by increased number of patients, shortened duration of treatment, and fewer complaints. The practical recommendations are aimed at further improving the operational efficiency of the healthcare institution.
