Subject. Professional medical activity within the framework of the current legislation of the Russian Federation may be considered as an activity for the provision of medical care or as an activity for the provision of medical services. In the latter case, it will involve the risk of the person or entity providing such services receiving additional requirements from third parties and incurring additional unforeseen expenses. This article considers such additional requirements and expenses regarding the possibility of providing insurance protection for the property interests of a medical organization in case of their receipt. Objectives. The article aims to conduct a comprehensive analysis of additional requirements and costs that a medical organization providing medical services may face when receiving claims from third parties, as well as study the possibility of obtaining protection from them using a professional liability insurance mechanism. Methods. For the study, I used the methods of analysis, synthesis, and classification. Results. The article analyzes the risks that a medical organization providing medical services may face, and it suggests formulations for a number of provisions of a professional liability insurance contract that may be relevant for certain types of policyholders. Conclusions. The article concludes about the possibility to increase the volume of insurance compensation under professional liability insurance contracts to protect against risks relevant to policyholders providing medical services. The fact that physician professional liability insurance is a voluntary type of insurance makes it possible to significantly increase the amount of insurance coverage under the contract, including those risks that may be relevant to a particular policyholder, taking into account the specifics of their professional activities, which will help increase consumer satisfaction with insurance services.
