Subject. This article analyzes the changes in the external debt of modern-day Russia.
Objectives. The article aims to determine the dynamics of external debt of modern-day Russia.
Methods. For the study, I used analysis and synthesis, special economic and mathematical methods, in particular, correlation and regression analysis, neural network, and cluster analyses.
Results. The study reveals a wide range of changes in the external debt of modern-day Russia and highlights the importance of the ratio of external debt per capita in US dollars to the country's GDP.
Conclusions. The revealed changes in the external debt of modern-day Russia, associated with the change in the ratio of external debt per capita in US dollars to GDP in the context of the priority of export of goods (services), demonstrates the extreme values of external borrowing with the dominance of short-term over long-term obligations.
