Subject. This article discusses the current state of the Russian banking sector, as well as indicators of the results of its activities and areas for future development.
Objectives. The article aims to assess the results of the banking sector in the context of sanction restrictions and identify new trends in the digital transformation of banking services.
Methods. For the study, we used the methods of analogy, data systematization, statistical analysis and graphical linear forecasting of trends, as well as methods of generating new ideas and generalization.
Results. The article assesses the modern architecture pattern of the Russian banking sector and the results of its activities, as well as platform transformations in the sector under the pressure of competition from FinTech companies.
Conclusions and Relevance. Digital transformations and growing competition from FinTech companies are generating new models of financial business, namely platform services, where some large banking actors with developed ecosystems successfully compete. It is obvious that the platforms will develop and open up new areas of the financial market. The results of the study reflect the current state of the banking sector of Russia, its innovative transformations under the pressure of modern technological development of the financial market.
