Subject The article considers the investment potential of industrial enterprises, factors impacting its formation and development, and provides their classification. Objectives The aims are to establish essential characteristics, define the economic category of investment potential of the industrial enterprise, identify factors impacting its formation, and provide their interpretation and classification from the standpoint of investment potential development. Methods The study draws upon theoretical research methods, namely, deduction and induction, analysis and synthesis, comparison and generalization. Results We identified essential characteristics of industrial enterprise’s investment potential, offered a new interpretation of the investment potential of an economic entity concept as a dynamic object of company management, defined the elements of investment potential of industrial enterprises and opportunities for their development. Conclusions The investment potential of industrial enterprises should be subject to control so as to continuously increase its individual elements and improve its properties. Development of investment potential of industrial enterprises is achieved through using the factors impacting its individual components.
