The article presents an empirical study of determinants of the leading companies’ in the Volga Federal district capital structure. The sample included 100 companies per region with highest revenues for 2010, representing non-financial sector of Republic of Tatarstan, Nizhny Novgorod Region, Orenburg Region, Republic of Bashkortostan, Perm Territory and Samara Region. Contemporary theoretical concepts of capital structure formation are statistically tested for national companies.
