At the present time building and support of social insurance system be considered as one of the basic means of unity society progress. At the given article are consider a conception, essence and intents of social insurance, its part and position in social protection of population system. Are reveal the problem questions of social insurance organization in Russia and priority lines of development of it at the present stage.
