Development of the methodology for analyzing the competitiveness of the region, taking into account the indicators of digitalization and spatial development
Subject. Digital transformation of regional economic systems in the context of their competitiveness. Objectives. Theoretical and methodological analysis of existing approaches to assessing regional competitiveness in the context of digitalization factors and the development of an improved methodology for measuring regional competitiveness. Methods. Comparative analysis, an index approach, and data standardization methods were used to compare various indicators. The basic competitiveness index of the region is proposed to be calculated using geometric averages and adjusted taking into account the developed and proposed coefficient of territorial socio-economic inequality. Results. A new multi-stage analytical model has been developed and proposed, which synthesizes the classical factors of regional competitiveness with the parameters of digitalization and the corrective correction factor of the territorial socio-economic gap. A system of indicators is proposed that assesses the current level of regional competitiveness and digital maturity, as well as the balanced development of urban and rural areas. Conclusions. The proposed step-by-step approach makes it possible to use it in the process of implementing state regional policy and managing competitiveness at the regional level. Regular monitoring based on the proposed system of indicators can help eliminate inequalities in territorial socio-economic development and increase the overall socio-economic sustainability of regions.
