Subject. The article discusses approaches to the definition and assessment of adaptive efficiency of business entities: their evolution and application features in modern economic analysis of economic entities. Objectives. The study aims to devise and test a methodological approach to assessment of adaptive efficiency of economic entities in a period of high uncertainty. Methods. The study employs general scientific principles and research methods, like abstraction, generalization of approaches to determining and evaluating the adaptive efficiency of economic entities. The offered methodological approach rests on comparative dynamic rating assessment. It was tested on the data of 15 small and medium-sized enterprises with the main activity "28.14 Production of Pipeline Fittings", according to OKVED-2. Results. The paper defines the main stages of economic analysis of economic entities’ adaptive efficiency; assesses the level of adaptive efficiency, where rating values were obtained for each year and for each organization, from 2019 to 2023, enabling to divide the studied enterprises into groups with high and low adaptive efficiency. We identified statistically significant differences in economic efficiency indicators between the groups of enterprises classified as producers of pipeline fittings (fixture), according to OKVED-2. Conclusions. It is possible to modify the proposed methodological approach by introducing quantitative and qualitative indicators, depending on chosen industry, characteristics of organizations, and specifics of period under review. The said approach can be used in real economic practice by stakeholders of economic entities to determine development vectors under conditions of high uncertainty.
