Subject. The article discusses features of the agro-industrial complex development in the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District. Objectives. The study aims to identify trends in the development of the agro-industrial complex in the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District. Methods. The study rests on official data from Rosstat, using methods of comparison, graphical interpretation of statistical data, correlation, and systems analysis. Results Using the coefficients of specialization and per capita production, I identified regions of the District, in which agriculture is a branch of regional specialization. The assessment of the agro-industrial complex development in the Far Eastern Federal District regions, conducted using a set of indicators characterizing various aspects of the industry's development, revealed significant differentiation between them, both in terms of the level of industry development and the amount of government support received. The study established a direct relationship between the amount of State support and the volume of agricultural production. Conclusions. The Far Eastern Federal District is characterized by significant interregional differentiation in terms of the level of development of the agro-industrial complex, which stems from the condition of the land fund that is unsuitable for the development of crop production, the insufficient provision of agricultural producers with land resources, and difficult natural and climatic conditions.
