Subject. A scientific trend in the academic environment is a doctrine of the formation of an information field on grant activities. The wide use of various information sources and the lack of unified approach to information and methodological support to the economic analysis of grant utilization in universities require a thorough study of the issue and development of proposals for grouping and using the information on grants.
Objectives. The study aims to develop a concept of information generation on grant activities in educational institutions and determine the content of information base during grant project implementation as the basis for economic analysis.
Methods. We rely on reviews of relevant academic and periodical economic literature in the field of scientific and theoretical provisions and practical developments of information support to economic analysis and evaluation of research grant utilization efficiency. Methods employed include generalization, systematization, and grouping.
Results. We developed a concept of the formation of information environment for grant process subjects. The paper presents our own definition of subjects of grant activity and recommends a structure of information space for grant projects, including individual elements and their content disclosure.
Conclusions. The generation of information for conducting economic analysis and evaluating the effectiveness of grant activities conceptually depends on the data grouped by grant process subject. The information space is divided into separate components, their content enables to determine the key positions of economic analysis of grant funding.
