In the transition from directive to market policy forms of management, there come the problems associated with the transformation of the fuel and energy complexes in the production structures, functioning under the influence of market mechanisms. The fuel and energy complex of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is facing the same extraordinary organizational-administrative tasks. The cluster structure of production, where the production units, which make up the cluster, support the economic independence and domestic competition, is an alternative, innovative and effectively applied in countries with developed market economies trend. Such market relations not only optimize the production structure, but they do create acceptable conditions for the exchange of information, ideas, and for the allocation of financial, material and human resources. This whole process improves the competitiveness of the industries and the structural transformation of the economic system. The article deals with the regional factors of forming the energy cluster in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The author pays particular attention to the analysis of the fuel-and-power potential and development prospects of the regional export-oriented energy industries. The study of the structure of a complex economic system and its elements, an analysis of the potential resource base of energy, energy sources, indicators of fuel production, consideration of the feasibility of not only from the point of view of the retrospective, but in the long-term development of enterprises, is the priority of the present work.
