The significance of the Asian-Pacific region in the global economic system has appreciably increased since recently. Today, despite the global economic crisis, the region shows an amazingly fair recovery of the economy. Vietnam is one of the economically promising countries of the region. The article investigates the characteristics of the development of small and medium-sized businesses in Vietnam, as a main sector of its economy.
