Assessment of the Russian creative-economy competitive ability in the international context

The article deals with the assessment of the Russian intellectual-production comparative level and trends of competitiveness, mainly concerning the merchandise sector. The concept of creative economy and the data of the world merchandise trade are the basis for the assessment. The author arrives at the conclusion that the Russian economic agents have the tendency to import products of the creative industries, rather than to export them.
