Intellectual property in the Russian professional football as a target for the management system in virtual environment: fundamentals of business model

Importance Considering the development of intellectual property market in real and virtual environments, especially during Russia's preparation for FIFA World Cup 2018, it is critical to examine a business model of the Russian professional football at the meso- and microlevels.
Objectives We formulate clauses on intellectual property items held by a football club and managed in real and virtual environments, substantiate that specific and versatile items should be regulated in real and virtual environments. The article analyzes turnover of the Russian professional football market through management of intellectual property items, substantiates the need to regulate the attitude of the football team to income (profit) through business and legal structure (commercial, non-commercial). We also articulate key principles of the business model of the Russian professional football through the mechanism for managing intellectual property items in real and virtual environments.
Methods We applied general scientific methods of theoretical and empirical cognition, analysis, classification of theoretical sources, hypotheses, empirical analysis of the Russian professional football market, methods for evaluating the intellectual property management.
Results We formulated key principles of the business model for the Russian professional football through management of intellectual property in real and virtual environments. The management system of the professional football organization comprises two modules, i.e. compulsory and additional ones.
Conclusions and Relevance We formulated principles for the Russian professional football at the meso- and microlevels through management of intellectual property in virtual environment. Practical results are applicable to management practices of the Russian professional football.


The concept of servant leadership for implicit knowledge management: Analysis and synthesis

Importance The article analyzes the servant leadership as the concept of economy-of-knowledge leadership that relies upon principles of ethics. The analysis brinks on the edge of philosophy, areas of economics in terms of effectiveness of the corporate concept of organizational behavior, labor productivity. We synthesized the concept on the basis of the illicit knowledge management model by considering five hypotheses from theoretical, institutional, economic perspectives of the concept.
Objectives The research pursues analyzing the servant leadership concept, synthesizing the concept for purposes of the illicit knowledge model and outlining recommendations on how to formulate the concept of leadership in the organizational knowledge management model under the Russian environment.
Methods The research involves general scientific methods of theoretical, empirical cognition.
Results We supplemented the concept of managerial functions of the manager within the economy of knowledge with the higher function of mindset. The article classifies leadership theories that have emerged since 1967, and generates a value-based approach. We analyzed the servant leadership function in philosophy, economics, corporate performance, formulated requirements to the leadership model in terms of the organization knowledge management model from theoretical, institutional, economic perspectives.
Conclusions and Relevance The concept is concluded to be inapplicable in the Russian conditions to influence the effectiveness of organizational behavior since corporate governance practices and its specifics significantly differ in Russia and the USA. We tried to substantiate the implementation of management concepts, including leadership and organizational behavior, in the first- and second-class clusters that are typical of Russia. The findings are useful to articulate national theories of leadership, knowledge management model, practices of managerial competence advancement in the economy of knowledge, refining tools to extract illicit corporate knowledge during a hybrid combination of real and virtual space of management.


Infrastructure of the knowledge economy: the system of economic indicators at the micro-, meso-, and macrolevels

Importance Considering the development of explicit and tacit knowledge at the macro-, meso-, and microlevels, operation of hi-tech business in hi-tech, medium-tech, and low-tech sectors, it is currently necessary to devise economic indicators of knowledge economy infrastructure.
     Objectives The research specifies the concept of knowledge economy infrastructure and devises the system of economic indicators of the knowledge economy infrastructure at the micro-, meso-, and macrolevels.
     Methods
We propose our own approach to examining the knowledge economy infrastructure as a system for managing explicit and tacit knowledge in hi-tech, medium-tech and low-tech business sectors. The methodological framework relies upon the corporate knowledge management model at the micro-, meso-, and macrolevels, and classification of hi-tech companies.
     Results We improved the concepts of knowledge economy infrastructure, hi-tech company and specified the system of economic indicators of knowledge economy at three levels concerning 38 types of activities of industrial producers and 36 science-based types of services that constitute hi-tech business.
     Conclusions and Relevance Knowledge economy infrastructure is presented as a system for managing explicit and tacit knowledge per 74 types of economic activities, thereby determining strategic development goals for each group of hi-tech companies in the global and domestic markets. We specified components of economic indicators of the knowledge economy infrastructure on the basis of hi-tech companies' operations, as grouped at three levels: the level reflecting the economic development; the level of openness and innovative activities of companies; the level that immediately describes the management of explicit and tacit knowledge.


A virtual organization as a focus of research and accounting in the Russian economic environment of digital economy

Importance Entities operating in the digital economy reached so high level of virtualization, which increases their profits and necessitates defining, classifying and accounting of the virtual entity.
Objectives The research is aimed to set characteristics of a virtual organization on the basis of our own definition and classification. We also devise accounting units of a virtual organization and formulate our recommendations for treating the virtual organization as part of the Russian economic environment at three levels.
Methods The research relies upon methods of systematization, classification, grouping, comparison, logic and source studies. To examine the regulation (accounting) of virtual organizations, we devise our original approach implying three levels at which such organizations should be treated, i.e. corporate level, remote employee, household.
Results We formed basic and additional characteristics of virtual organizations, proposed our definitions of virtual (remote) management, virtual assets of the virtual organization. The article also sets up three levels at which the virtual organization should be considered. We analyzed indicators within statistical accounting of virtual organizations in the Russian economic environment, and formulated two sets of recommendations for statistical accounting.
Conclusions and Relevance The definitions virtual (remote) management, virtual assets of the virtual organizations shall be legislatively regulated step-by-step in the Russian economic environment. We set up three levels of accounting in virtual organizations, i.e. entity, household, remote employee. The article also provides our recommendations for statistical accounting in virtual organizations. The findings can prove useful in such disciplines as Management Theory, Innovative Management, Strategic Management, Intellectual Property Management, Theory and Practice of E-Government, etc.
